Alright to get this blog started off I am going to talk about and rate a show I just got done watching. As always, your thoughts and questions are always welcome.
Show: MBC's Cinderella Man
Country of Origin: South Korea
Type of Show: Drama (mini-series)
Length: 16, 1hr episodes
Source: Soshified.com (Got to love the pink subs)
Spoiler Level: Low
Plot: Okay so for those of you who do not know this drama its main focus is around a character named Oh Daesan. He is a young man who grew up in an orphanage and now runs a clothing delivery service and is trying to open his own fashion store in the Great East Gate Market in Seoul. Other characters of importance in the story are Seo Yeojin (Played by SNSD's Yoona ;-) ) the daughter of a former merchant in the Great East Gate Market (we find out her father has died in the first episode) and a fashion design student from ESMOD Paris, Lee Joonhee who looks a lot like our hero (could it be because he is played by the same actor?) but is suffering from heart problems, and his brother Lee Jaemin. The father of these brothers has recently died as well, leaving the two brothers to battle over his very successful fashion company Sopia Apparel. This battle will grow to consume all of the characters in the story until, after many twits, turns and broken hearts . . . well I did say the spoiler level was low did I not?
Rillean's Comments: I thought that the story line was well put together and well executed. I was constantly left in suspense as to what was coming next and could not wait to get my hands on the latest episode. Lucky for me, it has been out for sometime so I was able to get it almost immediately, I simply had to ask my self, work . . . Or Cinderella Man? To bad I have to pay the bills. Anyway, the acting was brilliant, the cinematography was great, the music, memorable and the whole thing just grabbed your attention. The only downfall I saw in it was that it was a mini-series and so it only lasted for 16 episodes. Its not that the directors left you wondering what comes next, they leave each character with a basic life direction, but for me, I became so invested in the characters that I wanted to see more. But I guess that is not to be. So overall, I have to give this show high marks, and thanks to Soshified.com for providing the subbed version for us Korean illiterate fools.
