Music Video Side by Side Review: Gee by Girl's Generation Korean and Japanese Versions

I do apologize for talking so long to post another thread here. I have started watching another show to review it but it turned out to be a lot longer than I thought. So instead of doing a rating on it right now here is another side by side comparison, brought to you again by So Nyuh Shi Dae.

Info:
Song: Gee
Artist: 소녀시대 (Girl's Generation)

Okay for some reason Blogger is not letting me embed the videos right now I will keep trying but for now here is the links to the two versions.

Original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNR4Foy-u8s
New: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjb_KsQjh8E

Similarities:
If you took the time to watch these videos you can see how similar they really are. Unlike the Genie Japanese MV that SNSD recently recently released, (which, on a side note is doing very well, hitting #2 spot on the Orricon chart I believe) the director from this one seemed to want to keep it as close to the original as possible. They even bring back SHINee's Minho. The stage was similar, the clothing was similar, the . . . well you get the idea. In an effort to keep this short I will just say: if you have not watched the videos do so . . . NOW!

Differences:
Okay differences. This one I am going to have to dig a little harder for. Now obviously the language is different (no really?). And like Genie the meaning of the lyrics has changed fairly drastically. The theme of the lyrics is the same but only the lyrics in English have the same meaning in the two versions. Other distinct changes are: the girls are not the mannequins this time they are the employees and Minho is the customer not the employee of the month.

Rillean's Comments:
Now the part you have all been waiting for, or dreading. I think both of these music videos are very good. I mean when one of the biggest complaints I have heard about the original is that Sunny's hood obstructs the view of her lovely hair (yes I have seen that one posted I am not making it up) I have to think I am not alone in liking it. It will be intresting to see what Japan thinks of the new version. Out of the two it would be really hard to pick a favorite becasue they are so similar. But I will have to go with the new Japanese version this time as my favorite due to some of the little differences that I liked. The costumes in the new one were a little better I think. The Korean version's costumes were simple and very fitting for the song. But I deffinetly liked the white-T and jeans over the shorts and gray shirts. Also, I had to laugh at the bullet time in the new one and the way Minho is almost mauled. It just leaves me with one question: Where can I find that store? No seriously I need a new shirt. . .
